VivaPantry Privacy Policy

This policy explains what VivaPantry collects, why we use it, and how to contact us about privacy or deletion requests.

Information we collect

VivaPantry may collect and process information you provide or generate while using the app, including:

  • Account information, such as email address and authentication details.
  • Household preferences, dietary notes, regional settings, cooking goals, household size, budget preferences, and meal planning preferences.
  • Pantry items, products, quantities, grocery lists, recipes, recipe ingredients, recipe instructions, meal plans, and cooking records.
  • Receipts, receipt images, recipe images, extracted receipt items, price history, and related shopping records.
  • Location and store data, such as profile city, optional approximate device location, pasted Google Maps links, selected stores, store addresses, Google Place IDs, and Maps/Places lookup logs.
  • Billing and entitlement data, such as plan status, product IDs, purchase verification metadata, and subscription entitlement state.
  • Usage logs, diagnostics, app analytics, error logs, AI request metadata, Google Maps/Places request metadata, and support logs used to operate and improve the service.

How we use information

We use app data to provide core features: pantry tracking, receipt scanning, grocery lists, recipe organization, AI meal planning, store lookup, support, security, debugging, subscription verification, and service improvement.

Service providers

VivaPantry uses Supabase for backend services such as authentication, database, storage, and serverless functions. We may use AI providers such as OpenAI to process meal planning, receipt, recipe, grocery, or extraction requests. We may use Google services for Maps/Places store lookup, optional Google Drive storage, and Google Play Billing verification. We may also use app analytics and error logging tools to understand reliability and diagnose problems.

AI processing

When you use AI-powered features, relevant pantry, recipe, preference, receipt, grocery, or planning context may be sent to AI providers to generate results. We aim to send only the information needed for the requested feature. AI outputs may be incomplete or incorrect, so users should review allergy, nutrition, pricing, product availability, and cooking-safety output before relying on it.

Google API data

When you use Google Maps/Places features, relevant request data may be sent to Google, including search text, pasted Maps links, place identifiers, selected store details, and approximate coordinates for nearby search. When you connect Google Drive, VivaPantry uses Drive data only for the storage workflow you enable. When you purchase through Google Play, purchase and entitlement data is used to verify access to paid features. We do not sell Google API data or use it for advertising, data brokerage, credit decisions, or unrelated profiling.

Data retention and deletion

We keep information as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve issues, prevent abuse, and maintain security. You can request account and data deletion by contacting us. Deletion may include account data, pantry items, recipes, grocery lists, receipts, preferences, household data, connected storage records, and related app data. Some limited records may be retained where required for security, legal, fraud prevention, billing, or operational reasons.
